Chicks with Picks started with a vision. Pandy Raye and Rhonda Hitchcock realized that Phoenix has so many talented female musicians, of all genres, that needed to be heard! As two professional musicians, these two chicks set out to provide a platform for “up and
coming” female singer/songwriters (acoustic, electric, duos and full bands) to showcase their talent. Many of these musicians don’t know where to turn to get on the right path to following their dream of performing their music.
Pandy Raye and Rhonda Hitchcock started Chicks With Picks in late October 2007. With only a handful of talented girls and weekly showcases. Chicks with Picks has now blossomed into an organization that features over 75 artists (and growing) at weekly/monthly showcases and events. They have held festivals featuring national acts and local talent. As of January 2010 they have hit their 300th show in just
over 2 years.
Chicks With Picks offers workshops on a regular basis that cover topics in every aspect of the music industry including professional songwriting, recording and
music business mentoring. Also, to provide a resource to all of the Chicks that will help them grow to their fullest potential. Talent is the only prerequisite.
